Youth Assembly Member
Me and a few of my fellow youth assembly members headed to parliament buildings last Saturday to meet a group of really inspiring other young people from Syrian Youth voice.
Through the course of a few hours we all learned so much from them about the harrowing experience of leaving your home, and having to build a life in a new country. We shared items from home which represented who we are, some brought their football gloves, others brought artwork along with a range of other things. These items helped us to realise how similar we are and have conversations about shared interests and ideas.
We all also wrote down one hope for the future, we then put these onto our dream board. I can truly say that it was one of the most interesting and inspiring experiences I have had as a youth assembly member, and I’d really hope to have another opportunity to meet with this incredible group of young people.
